Mechanical Design Problem Set #1

[ ETA 2/28 ] This would be applicable to mechatronic and instrumentation design field. In the following set, I can cover more software (serial communication / thermal and motion control / image recognition, etc) if many are interested The structure of the problem sets will be
  1. Theoretical questions in statics / dynamics / thermal / fluids
  2. Simple concept design sketch
  3. Design for manufacturing / rough cost estimate / material selection
  4. Simple CAD design to see the ability to come up with most simple and cost effective design
  5. More complicated CAD design that will challenge the understanding of vibration / precision / optics / thermal considerations

Hiring Manager's Perspective #1

[ETA 2/28] I’ll walk through the hiring process from initial posting to phone screening. I plan to specifically cover what happens when I first receive a pile of resumes and what I’m looking for in a resume / portfolio as I prepare for the initial screening call. I’ll also highlight examples of candidates who stood out positively and those I decided to pass on immediately.
