HighlightS

  • Defined market, constraints, and criteria for the toy.
  • Designed a toy model in OnShape using basic CAD features with manufacturability on a 3D printer in mind
  • Used BambuStudio to slice the model and send it to a 3D Printer
  • Physically wired and connected everything together on the model.

Followed the following guidelines for designing the toy body:

  • Easily printable without excess use of supports or filaments
  • Allow room for a DC Motor so that the propeller can spin when a button is pressed
  • Can easily assemble the toy from the 3D printed components

The toy had a hollow inside for the motor with adequate space.

Completed Model:

The completed model was sliced in BambuStudio:

The final model was then printed and assembled.
