ABOUT ME
I'm a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate at the University of Moratuwa, pursuing a career in automotive and motorsport engineering. My main interests are chassis systems, vehicle dynamics, mechanical design, and design for manufacturing.
I focus on how engineering theory becomes physical behaviour, moving from requirements and calculations through CAD, prototyping, testing, and evidence.
🔧 What I’m Working On
I use engineering projects to build practical experience in mechanical system design, kinematics, packaging, component integration, design iteration, manufacturing constraints, assembly, and testing.
My aim is to move beyond polished CAD models and understand how designs behave when tolerances, packaging, manufacturing, and measurement become real constraints.
🧠 How I Approach Engineering
I document the complete development process, including;
• Requirements, constraints, and assumptions
• Concept comparisons and design trade-offs
• Packaging, interference, and assembly challenges
• Design for manufacturing and prototyping
• Predicted-versus-measured behaviour
• Failures, redesigns, limitations, and lessons learned
I believe the decisions and evidence behind a design demonstrate engineering growth more honestly than the final render alone.
🛠️ Technical Toolkit
My current experience includes;
• SOLIDWORKS, Fusion 360, and AutoCAD
• Mechanical CAD and assembly design
• Design for manufacturing and prototyping
• Foundational structural FEA
• Python and C++ for engineering calculations, data analysis, and automation
I continue developing these skills through structured projects and technical research.
📘 The Kinematic Shift
I publish The Kinematic Shift, an engineering publication examining how analytical models, CAD, simulation, manufacturing, and validation shape automotive and motorsport systems.
It focuses on the engineering decisions, trade-offs, and physical principles behind performance, not only the finished machines.
🎯 Career Direction
My long-term goal is to contribute to chassis development, vehicle dynamics, mechanical design, testing, validation, or design for manufacturing within the automotive and motorsport industries.
🤝 Currently Open To
I'm interested in Formula Student involvement, engineering internships, technical collaborations, and opportunities where I can contribute through CAD, mechanical design, prototyping, technical research, or engineering documentation while learning from experienced engineers.
