Participated in the Real World Design Challenge for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. Students are tasked with designing and drafting a report for an Unmanned Aerial System. Challenges have certain design requirements, change annually, and feature a certain theme for the year.
During the 2021-22 season, my team and I designed a VTOL "tilt rotor" style aircraft capable of reaching high speeds. This paper won the International Innovation award for its use of ducted motors and hydrogen fuel cells.
For the 2022-23 season, my team and I designed a large body unmanned airship capable of carrying multiple ULD3's extreme distances. This paper won second place in a competition of 500 competitors.
Each design proposal is 60 pages long, but contain info about the design, mission, performance, and business case for each UAV. I would highly recommend looking at the Airship doc (2022-23) since I led the team that year and is by far the most detailed.
