OVERVIEW

This bushing system was re-designed to necessitate a rudder shaft diameter change. It was designed to fit underneath our hull and continue to support the forces on our rudder, while allowing easy rudder control.

ADDITIONAL CONTENTS

We wanted to increase our rudder shaft diameter. This meant that our previous bushing design did not work due to size constraints and necessitated a new design which had to be underneath the hull. I worked on designing this new system which involved a bronze sleeve on our shaft which interfaces with a delrin bushing.
