Jeffrey Tsang

Mechanical Engineering Student

Boston, MA

ABOUT ME

I am a mechanical engineering student at Northeastern University with R&D experience in polymer testing and materials characterization. I have extensive work in ASTM-based testing procedures, data analysis, and automation solutions. My background includes working with advanced testing equipment, developing preventative maintenance protocols, and creating Python scripts for data processing. I have hands-on experience with PTFE, PAI, and PEEK coatings for medical device applications, and I'm skilled in CAD design using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

I chose mechanical engineering because I love the dynamic problem solving the major offers. As a child I loved taking things apart and putting them back together, this was the beginning of my love for problem solving with a purpose.

In the future I hope to be in an engineering industry that allows me to solve issues for a multitude of users, this way I can create the most change.

I can be contacted via my email: tsang.je@northeastern.edu

High Strain Rate Material Model Characterization Of Polymers

In the Cold Spray Research Lab at Northeastern University I was apart of a 3 person team led by Dr. Salih Duran on a project in collaboration with UMass Amherst. We researched the effects of high strain rates on PDMS materials by inducing high...

Applicator Fixture

The Bruker Hysitron is a micro-scratch and nano-indent platform that requires samples be loaded in by hand. I created an applicator fixture that makes it both more accurate and efficient to load samples with than by hand.
