Assistant manager to a team of 30 engineers, elected to act as liaison
Project summary is found here: Design and Optimization of an Ethylene Plant - Final Report.docx
Participated in a team of 30 other engineers to create a successful simulation of an ethylene cracking plant, producing 800,000 tonnes per year of ethylene product.
Functioned as liaison between 5 teams - coordinated between heat exchanger network, utilities, ethylene cracker, separations, and equipment subgroups.
Targeted specific optimizations, such as implementing a scrubber system to capture extra hydrogen and increase profits, and resolved heat transfer issues in the HEN of the plant design.
Team completed the project on time, and with full cohesion - the plant was simulated in a mere 4 months, and ready to be implemented to have significant income for a 7 year ROI
Completed a base case and an optimized case for the project, the optimized case showing more efficient resource allocation and higher profitability.
Project would start to be profitable after 7 years of operation.
