Project Timeline

Feb 2023 - May-2025

OVERVIEW

GobbleBot was a fully autonomous delivery robot designed to transport small payloads across campus terrain using a tread-based locomotion system. The project integrates mechanical, electrical, and software engineering disciplines to develop a reliable, cost-effective prototype capable of navigating varied environments. The mechanical subsystem—led by the CAD and fabrication team—focused on creating a modular tread and chassis design for improved traction and maintainability.

HighlightS

  1. Designed and 3D printed 100+ interlocking tread components using SOLIDWORKS to optimize traction and terrain adaptability.
  2. Managed an interdisciplinary team of 8 students, coordinating between software, electrical, and mechanical teams to align system integration milestones.
  3. Developed Gantt charts and project schedules to ensure timely fabrication and testing cycles.
  4. Secured funding from multiple university organizations, enabling full prototyping and iteration of the locomotion system.
  5. Contributed to the final system demonstration, achieving operation and payload delivery within project constraints.
