Project Timeline

Aug 2020 - Dec-2020

OVERVIEW

Start of my journey. This project focuses on improving ergonomic comfort and workspace efficiency for individuals working or studying from home during the pandemic. Recognizing the discomfort caused by prolonged use of laptops in cramped environments, our team explored design solutions that enhance usability and posture for everyday electronic device users.

HighlightS

Designed ergonomic workspace solutions to address posture and comfort challenges during remote work.

Developed and modeled two viable product concepts — a laptop stand and a clip-on desk.

Conducted tolerance analysis to ensure manufacturability and ease of assembly.

Performed preliminary FEA simulations to evaluate structural performance and optimize geometry.

Proposed design improvements for enhanced stability, portability, and usability.

Goals

Address the problem of people working and studying in uncomfortable and cramped environments at home amid the pandemic.

Concept Generation

Since most students use electronics for school, we brainstormed ideas on what gadgets can improve our experience working and learning using electronics. We were contemplating between two main ideas and solutions that could solve our problem - a laptop stand or a miniature desk that can attach on a laptop.
