Project Timeline

OVERVIEW

I led a top 10 placing glider at the Boeing Flight Competition at the National Society of Black Engineers Conference in Atlanta. I led a team of 3 people in designing, assembling, testing, and prototyping a glider that was restricted to material and load-bearing restraints. Our team used laser cutting and SolidWorks to design, assemble, and test, multiple glider prototypes. We researched and applied aerodynamics principles, optimizing wing angle, fuselage shape, and stabilizer placement, and utilized this knowledge to analyze flight data to enhance performance, making data-driven adjustments for maximum glide distance. We presented our design process and considerations to a panel of Boeing professionals. PRESENTATION LINK: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18JYZ1SLS2wqdhhhlxS1UmbCNqQmbYqML/view
