OVERVIEW

The task was to design a product based on real world issues and present it to the class. The issue I was assigned was school violence and shootings, and my product was QuickShield. QuickShield is a portable classroom barrier system designed to improve safety and emergency preparedness in school environments. The project focused on creating a practical, affordable, and easily deployable solution that could be used by teachers during lockdown or emergency situations. The design emphasized portability, durability, and ease of use while maintaining classroom accessibility.

HighlightS

-Designed a functional concept for a portable classroom safety barrier system

-Evaluated materials for strength, weight, and cost efficiency

-Developed system dimensions and deployment methods for practical classroom use

-Conducted cost analysis to ensure affordability for school districts

-Created branding, naming, and presentation materials for the product

-Collaborated with teammates to refine design based on feedback and testing

-Presented the final product concept to instructors and peers

-Demonstrated initiative in balancing safety, usability, and manufacturability

Electrical Engineering Student & Intern

I'm an electrical engineering student at the University of Toledo with hands-on internship experience at Whirlpool Corporation. There, I gained experience in AutoCAD, vendor communication and quoting, collaboration, leadership, and discipline.

I'm proficient in C++, AutoCAD, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Suite, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to improve processes and ensure system reliability.

My hope is to have a career in the electrical side of building design/architecture.
