OVERVIEW

This project involved designing and simulating a bottling station mechanism in SolidWorks, featuring a Geneva wheel and cam-driven system. I created 3D models, assembled multiple mechanical components, and conducted a full motion analysis to demonstrate coordinated part movement. The goal was to simulate realistic mechanical behavior for automated indexing used in packaging systems. My work included CAD modeling, mechanical assembly, motion simulation, and preparing a professional engineering drawing set with orthographic and pictorial views.

HighlightS

  • Built and verified a fully functional bottling station assembly in SolidWorks
  • Modeled and aligned complex moving components including the Geneva wheel, cam, and U-joint
  • Performed motion analysis with contact and motor constraints to simulate real-world kinematics
  • Produced detailed engineering drawings and motion study animation for presentation
  • Demonstrated understanding of tolerance, mating, and motion synchronization in mechanical systems
