Sailboat Rudder

I was tasked in my first year of engineering with cnc machining and designing our rudder on UBC Sailbot. I determined the core material, programmed the toolpath on HSMWorks and manufactured the rudder myself. I then helped to apply the carbon fiber layup and with the fairing process. After numerous prototypes, I was able to successfully manufacture our rudder which is used on our boat today.
