The CSULB Lunabotics team from California State University, Long Beach competes in NASA’s Lunabotics Challenge. The team designs, builds, and tests a rover capable of digging and transporting simulated lunar soil (regolith) to support NASA’s goal of developing technologies for future lunar missions. Members from various engineering fields collaborate through all stages of the systems engineering process—concept, design, manufacturing, testing, and documentation. The project helps students gain real-world experience in robotics, teamwork, and problem-solving while promoting STEM outreach and strengthening CSULB’s presence in aerospace innovation.
