Project Timeline

Jun 2024 - Apr-2025

OVERVIEW

- During my internship with Boeing at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, I supported engineering work for the NASA Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. Over 3 months onsite and 9 months remote, I worked closely with structural, production, liaison, mechanical, and tooling engineers. I helped plan hardware installations, improve manufacturing processes, and troubleshoot build issues on major rocket sections like the Forward Skirt, Engine Section, and Core Stage 2. - While on-site, I worked directly with engineers to review drawings, check installation sequences, and support day-to-day manufacturing on the factory floor. When I transitioned to remote work, I focused on tooling engineering focusing on interpreting data, validating tooling models, and updating shop-floor documentation to ensure all tool instructions met current engineering and manufacturing standards.

HighlightS

▪ Supporting floor-wide project to convert 150+ drill sheet instructions from an older to updated version for technicians, resulting in reduced labor time and more efficient searchability

▪ Developed 3 detailed storyboard engineering plans for the Core Stage 2 of NASA SLS Rocket, utilizing 3D models in Creo, engineering drawings, and comprehensive part documentation resulting in greater part installation efficiency

▪ 70+ working hours with model and structure analysis in Creo CAD software

▪ Developed 10 installation plans by analyzing part documentation and engineering drawings for the Engine Section, while ensuring a 100% accuracy of details on plans made

▪ Resolved 5 Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs) by collaborating directly with liaison and manufacturing engineers to identify issues and implement effective solutions for Forward Skirt Rocket Section
